South African youth play soccer on Desso turf
Desso Sports Systems will be collaborating closely with the City of Cape Town and the province of Western Cape with regards to artificial turf pitches. The collaboration aims to expand and further improve sports facilities in South Africa.
Sport as leverage for change With the World Cup 2010 as leverage, sports – and soccer in particular – will be an important factor in the further development of South Africa. One of the preconditions for sports is the availability of adequate, high quality sports fields. Desso Sports Systems is therefore setting up a collaboration with Cape Town and the province of Western Cape. Objective of the cooperation is to provide local communities with high quality artificial grass pitches in the coming years. Desso shares the belief that sport can bring about social change. The company wants to actively contribute to this and will donate a first synthetic turf pitch to the local community of Houtbaai.
